Suncoast Z Car Club - Jesse Martinez

Jesse Martinez (member #001) 1 of the 4 original founders of Suncoast Z Car Club and first president of the club. Affectionately know as "Captain Midnight" for the given reason of owning this fully restored Midnight Edition Black Pearl 1978 280Z.

For those of you who dont know about this special edition - it is the 1st metallic black (paint code 638) that was offered by Nissan and it came with a package of sport mirrors, louvers, quartz clock and a stripe kit package. Jesse will not be re-applying the stripes, but actually has a new set for safe keeping.

Car was stripped down to the unibody and restored completely. Car restoration took approx. 3 1/2 years on and off (including 2 moves -1 out of state from Florida to Georgia and 1 in state to a new home)

- Engine completely rebuilt

- New 40 over flatop pistons

- cylinder head had a 3 angle valve job

- New 6 into 1 header Jet Hot coated with 2 1/2 inch mandrel bend

aluminized exhaust system, resinator and turbo muffler with

additonal stainless steel resinator exhaust tip for noise reduction.

- New 72mm bosch intake for a 1978 BMW 5 series

- New 60 mm throttle body from Motorsports
