This British Racing Green 240Z owned by Jim Frederick was formally owned by actor Paul Newman.
Jim states:
It's a L28 with N47 head highly modified, ported and polished, mild cam, oil cooler, MSD, electronic ignition, stock 1972 NGK wires(can you believe that), R200 3.54 gear rear end, stock 4 speed, and finally triple 40mm Delorto Carbs. Suspension also modified with racing springs that sit 2 inch lower than stock, front/rear sway bars, rear camber adjustment, quick steering knuckles, comp rack bushings, and styerring coupler.
Rumor is this was Paul Newman's daily driver mean street machine. It was built by Bob Sharp racing and I can attest that it will do 140mph. Ask the 2002 Ford Mustang Cobra GT I raced on the expressway last Christmas. Granted he won by a car legnth but stopped and had to find out what I was driving because he couldn't believe I kept up with him nearly beating him. Probably would have if I had my new clutch in but I was happy to see it perform that well. The car will never see that speed with me in the car again :-) but it was fun and smooth.
I am the 4th owner. Second owner bought car from Newman in CA and moved to FT. Pierce , FL and had the car until 1986. A show car transporter from Lake Okkochobee bought it and raced it in Florida for a while. Past member Dan Reilly bought it next until he sold it to me 3 years ago
